Ultrasound imaging uses high-frequency sound waves to produce real-time images from inside the body. How Ultrasound Works
During an ultrasound exam, a small handheld device called a transducer is placed on the skin over the area being examined. The transducer sends sound waves into the body and receives the echoes that bounce back, creating detailed images on a monitor in real time. This allows our team to visualize organs, blood flow, and tissue movement as it happens.

Breast Ultrasound
Breast ultrasound is often used alongside mammography to provide additional information about findings from a screening or physical exam. It's particularly useful for determining whether a lump is a fluid-filled cyst or a solid mass, and is especially valuable for women with dense breast tissue where mammography alone may not provide complete information.
Doppler Ultrasound
Doppler ultrasound is a specialized technique that evaluates blood flow through your arteries and veins. This is essential for detecting blockages, blood clots, or narrowing of blood vessels. It's commonly used to assess circulation in the legs, arms, and neck, as well as blood flow to organs.
A Gentle, Comfortable Experience
Ultrasound exams are painless and typically take 30-60 minutes depending on the area being examined. You may be asked to fast before certain abdominal ultrasounds or drink water before a pelvic exam. Our sonographers will explain everything before your appointment and ensure you're comfortable throughout the procedure.
